Nothing is more refreshing on a hot summer day than the ocean, which is why today's Sunday Sample Spotlight post features a coral-reef themed invitation and reply card.
I used scrapbook paper to decorate the left flap and right pocket of this "Himalaya" pocketfold envelope. The dark blue of the scrapbook paper creates a nice contrast to the light blue metallic envelope and the light cyan background of the printed stationery, while the bubbles connect to the illustrations on the stationery and pull everything together with a cohesive theme.
The colors of this stationery set are very summery. The rich blues, yellows, magentas, purples, and oranges showcase the vibrant hues of a coral reef and give the whole set a fun, casual feel. I outlined all of the images (which I made, as always, with the pen tool in Illustrator) with black lines to help them feel more cartoon-y and whimsical. Then, I amped up the playfulness even more with a fun curly font.
This stationery set would be great for a child's birthday, a beach-themed wedding, or any event that takes place at a unique waterfront venue or inside a local aquarium. How amazing would it be to have a wedding reception underneath a glass ceiling of fish? Truly majestic. :)
The "Himalaya" pocketfold envelope design includes a pocket on the right side of the envelope - the perfect pouch for inserting any information, reply cards, or reply envelopes you want to give your guests.
